Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Spyder when you use the service. Read these before signing up — by signing up you agree to be bound by them.
The short version
You can build and host websites with Spyder. You're responsible for what you publish. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service. We give you a portable export so you're never trapped. We don't sell your data. Either of us can end this agreement at any time.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for the security of your account credentials, and for everything that happens under your account.
License you give us
To host and serve the content you create, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, and display that content as needed to run the service. This license ends when you delete the content (or your account). We claim no ownership of your content — it stays yours.
License we give you
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Spyder for its intended purpose: building, hosting, and publishing websites that you own or are authorized to publish.
Acceptable use
You agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. The short list of things you can't publish or do with Spyder: illegal content, sexual content involving minors, content that promotes self-harm, malware, phishing, content that violates someone else's intellectual property rights, and abuse of platform resources.
Payments and refunds
Free plans are free, with limits. Pro and Studio plans bill monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the billing period. We don't pro-rate refunds for partial months. If we bill you in error, email billing@spyderapp.com within 30 days and we'll make it right.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the AUP, with notice when practical and immediately when not (for example, for active abuse).
On termination we retain backups for 30 days in case you need a recovery, then permanently purge.
Warranty disclaimer
Spyder is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure beyond what we describe in our Security commitments. Use at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spyder's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Intellectual property
The Spyder platform — software, design, templates, branding — is owned by Spyder. Your sites are owned by you. Templates we provide can be used freely within Spyder; you don't get the right to extract and redistribute them as your own template marketplace.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes get a 14-day advance email to active customers. Continued use after the change date means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes go to the state and federal courts in Travis County, Texas, except where local consumer protection law gives you a stronger right.
