Acceptable Use Policy

Specific things you agree not to do with Spyder. Violating this policy is grounds for suspension or termination of your account.

Prohibited content

You may not publish, host, or transmit:

  • Content that's illegal in the United States or in your own jurisdiction.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind. We report this to NCMEC and law enforcement on sight.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Content that promotes or facilitates self-harm or suicide.
  • Content that incites violence against a person or group.
  • Hate speech that dehumanizes or threatens a protected group.
  • Content that violates another party's intellectual property rights — including images, fonts, and code you don't have the rights to use.
  • Malware, ransomware, cryptominers, or any code designed to harm a visitor's device.
  • Phishing pages, fake login pages, or pages designed to deceive visitors into giving credentials or money.
  • Spam, deceptive SEO doorway pages, or content auto-generated for the sole purpose of manipulating search rankings.
  • Unregulated pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, weapons, or other items prohibited where the visitor lives.

Prohibited platform abuse

  • Don't try to bypass plan limits (rate limits, storage caps, AI usage caps) through automation or multiple accounts.
  • Don't attempt to access another customer's account, site, or data.
  • Don't probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform without coordinating with our security team.
  • Don't use Spyder as a relay for unrelated traffic (e.g. proxy, CDN-fronting another service, file-sharing endpoint).
  • Don't run cryptocurrency mining or other resource-intensive workloads not related to a normal website.
  • Don't impersonate Spyder, our employees, or other customers.

Email and outbound communication

If your site collects email addresses or contact info, you're responsible for complying with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and any other applicable law in the jurisdictions where your visitors live. Get consent before you email people. Honor unsubscribe requests promptly.

Custom domains

If you point a custom domain at a Spyder site, you must control or have permission to use that domain. We may reject domain bindings that we believe are being used in bad faith (e.g. typosquatting a trademark).

Enforcement

When we see a violation we typically take one of the following actions, scaled to the severity:

  • Email warning with a 7-day grace period to remediate.
  • Take the offending content offline and require remediation before re-enabling.
  • Immediate suspension of the account for severe violations (CSAM, active phishing, malware distribution) without prior notice.
  • Permanent ban + report to law enforcement when legally required.

To report content that violates this policy, see the Abuse Report page for the fastest path.
